If you live or work on Santa Maria or São Miguel (Azores), you can get up to 100% as a grant for sea-related training projects, cultural activities and promoting local products. Individuals, companies and associations can apply.
If you own a business or are a sole trader in the Azores, including in retail or catering, you can receive non-refundable support of up to 65% to invest in your business. You must fund at least 20% of the investment with equity and can also receive an extra bonus based on your results. You can apply until November 30, 2026.
If you have a business or cooperative in the Azores, you can get a grant you do not have to pay back to make investments that help sell goods and services outside the region. The support covers up to 70% of costs for micro and small businesses, 60% for medium businesses, and 50% for large ones, provided you cover at least 25% with own funds. You can apply until November 30, 2026.
If you have an SME or are self-employed, you can get back part of what you spend registering trademarks, designs or patents. It is EU support that closes when the money runs out.
If you are on Terceira or Graciosa (Azores), you can get between 50% and 100% as a grant for sea-related projects: up to €50,000 of investment for businesses and up to €100,000 for non-profits.
If your SME has already done successful research and now wants to show the technology works in practice (with a demonstrator or pilot line), it can get support for that project, alone or with partners.
If you have a project that makes your area more attractive to tourists, you can get 60% (or more, in the interior) as a grant: up to €400,000 for municipalities and associations, or up to €200,000 for small businesses. Companies can only apply with social innovation projects or projects within PROVERE strategies.
If your company already has a project approved for or applied to Portugal 2030, the PRR or IFIC, you can ask your bank for a publicly guaranteed loan to cover the part of the investment the grant does not pay. You can finance up to half of the investment, as long as you put in at least 20% of your own funds.
If your company spends a lot on energy (at least 20% of production costs) or has seen raw material costs rise sharply, you can ask your bank for a publicly guaranteed loan to support cash flow: up to €100,000 for a micro company and up to €2.5 million for larger ones, repayable over up to 5 years.
If your company spends money on research and development, it can recover a large part (up to 82.5%) through a corporate income tax credit. The application for 2026 expenses is made on the ANI platform by 31 May 2027.
If you have a company or are self-employed, you can ask your bank for publicly guaranteed credit, which makes the loan easier to get and on better terms. It covers day-to-day needs, growth, buying another business or starting a newly created one.
If you find it hard to get a job or credit and want to start or grow a small business, you can ask for microcredit of up to €20,000 with a guarantee and lower interest, plus free help to prepare your project. Young unemployed people get priority.
If your company invests in new machinery, equipment or technology, it can deduct up to 30% of that investment from its corporate income tax (in less developed regions), and sometimes get property-tax and stamp-duty exemptions. There is no application: your accountant claims it on the tax return.
If you own a business or cooperative in Portugal and increased its equity, you can deduct that effort from the taxes owed on your profits. The tax deduction is calculated based on the 12-month Euribor rate plus 2 percentage points on the invested amount, up to a maximum limit of 4 million euros per year.
