If you are a large company in the North, Centre, Alentejo or Algarve and want to invest to use less energy and pollute less, you can get support for new low-carbon equipment and technology. The open phase is only for large projects negotiated with the State (contractual regime).
If your SME in the Centre, Alentejo, Algarve or Lisbon region wants to research and develop new products or processes, it can get support for projects from €150,000, alone or with partners. Applications until 30 December.
If your company in the North, Centre, Alentejo or Algarve wants to invest in manufacturing digital, deep-tech or biotech products (including critical medicines), it can get a non-repayable grant for that productive investment.
If your company or research centre in the North, Centre, Alentejo or Algarve wants to develop digital technology or biotech in partnership, up to production and sale, it can get up to 80% of the research costs. Consortium only.
If you are a business association, chamber of commerce or research centre in the Algarve, you can get up to 70% of the cost of actions that help create new knowledge- and technology-based companies. It is not for individual companies: it is for organisations running initiatives for many businesses at once.
If you are a business association, chamber of commerce or public body in the Algarve, you can get 75% (up to 80%) of the cost of actions that help local businesses use less energy and pollute less. It is for collective initiatives, not for a single company.
If you run a business in the Algarve, you can get a 60% non-refundable grant to make your company more sustainable. This funding covers projects up to €200,000 focused on energy efficiency and emissions reduction, with priority for tourism and industry.
If your SME has already done successful research and now wants to show the technology works in practice (with a demonstrator or pilot line), it can get support for that project, alone or with partners.
If you have a project that makes your area more attractive to tourists, you can get 60% (or more, in the interior) as a grant: up to €400,000 for municipalities and associations, or up to €200,000 for small businesses. Companies can only apply with social innovation projects or projects within PROVERE strategies.
If your company already has a project approved for or applied to Portugal 2030, the PRR or IFIC, you can ask your bank for a publicly guaranteed loan to cover the part of the investment the grant does not pay. You can finance up to half of the investment, as long as you put in at least 20% of your own funds.
If your company spends a lot on energy (at least 20% of production costs) or has seen raw material costs rise sharply, you can ask your bank for a publicly guaranteed loan to support cash flow: up to €100,000 for a micro company and up to €2.5 million for larger ones, repayable over up to 5 years.
If your company spends money on research and development, it can recover a large part (up to 82.5%) through a corporate income tax credit. The application for 2026 expenses is made on the ANI platform by 31 May 2027.
If you have a company or are self-employed, you can ask your bank for publicly guaranteed credit, which makes the loan easier to get and on better terms. It covers day-to-day needs, growth, buying another business or starting a newly created one.
If you are receiving unemployment benefit, you can ask to receive all the remaining benefit in one go to create your own full-time job. You need to present a viable plan at the job centre; the answer usually takes 60 to 90 working days.
If you find it hard to get a job or credit and want to start or grow a small business, you can ask for microcredit of up to €20,000 with a guarantee and lower interest, plus free help to prepare your project. Young unemployed people get priority.
If your company invests in new machinery, equipment or technology, it can deduct up to 30% of that investment from its corporate income tax (in less developed regions), and sometimes get property-tax and stamp-duty exemptions. There is no application: your accountant claims it on the tax return.
If you move to Portugal's interior to work or create your own job, you get about €3,760 (or €2,686 with a fixed-term contract), plus 20% for each family member who moves with you and €806 for moving costs. You apply on iefponline within 180 days of starting.
If you are unemployed and registered at the employment center, you can get free help to create your own business or job. You receive support to build your business plan and, during the first two years, guidance and management consulting.
If you are registered at the job centre (unemployed, looking for a first job up to age 35, or self-employed on a low income), you can ask a bank for a guaranteed, lower-interest loan to start your small business: up to €20,000 (MICROINVEST) or up to €100,000 (INVEST+), with nothing to pay in year one.
If you own a business or cooperative in Portugal and increased its equity, you can deduct that effort from the taxes owed on your profits. The tax deduction is calculated based on the 12-month Euribor rate plus 2 percentage points on the invested amount, up to a maximum limit of 4 million euros per year.
